Tackling Crime Together

On Sunday, Redbridge Young Labour launched the Labour party's local elections campaign for Fullwell Ward, by hosting Labour activists and Councillors at a canvass of the Tiptree Estate and surrounding areas of Fullwell to speak with hundreds of local residents, listening to their concerns and reassuring them that Redbridge's Labour Council are taking action against crime.

Jas Athwal, the leader of Redbridge Council, along with local election candidates Vanisha Solanki, Sadiq Kothia and Sham Islam, spoke to local residents in Fullwell about how Redbridge Council are taking action to try to fill the gap in policing left by government cuts, by increasing CCTV coverage, making street lamps brighter, and increasing the enforcement presence on the streets.

This comes a few days after local politicians met hundreds of local residents at a local meeting nearby concerning the recent spike in crime and burglaries in the north of Redbridge.

Speaking shortly after speaking to residents of the Tiptree Estate in Fullwell ward on Sunday, Vanisha Solanki, one of Labour's candidates for Fullwell ward in the upcoming local elections, said "One of the key issues that has come up again and again is crime. People at the Tiptree Estate definitely feel like they haven't been represented properly and their views have not been heard. I that that is something we need to change and something we need to hold the Conservatives to account on"
